I am delighted to have put forward a couple of design schemes for a single-storey rear and side extension for a semi-detached house in Crowthorne, Berkshire.
The ground floor layout, like many semis in the UK, are typical of the era in that a formal living room and a kitchen / diner to the rear has slowly become too small for everyday use. The extensions explore pushing out to the rear to allow for a large family / dining / kitchen room with back up areas with the added benefit of this dwelling a large area to the side can also be used to allow for further extensions.
Two options were put forward for review, one being a more traditional extension with parapet and coping stones, and the other a more modern option with cedar cladding and large overhanging roofs with downlighters. Pretty much the same result, just two different ways to clad it!
